Characteristics
- Reversible knit: Both sides of the fabric have an identical appearance, making it usable on either side.
- Double thickness and weight of 1×1 rib fabric: This structure gives the fabric a more substantial feel compared to single jersey.
- More stable and compact: The tight-knit construction ensures better durability and stability.
- Has equal tension on each side and does not curl at the edges: Unlike single jersey, the fabric lies flat naturally without requiring additional processing.
- Only ladders from the end of the fabric that was last knitted: The fabric is less prone to unraveling, and ladders (if they occur) begin from the last knitted row.
A ladder forms when a stitch is broken. A wale will disintegrate and slip through the previous loop, causing a ladder in the material.
